15th September

We have left our beautiful hotel in Indian Wells, and moved on to our final hotel in San Diego. Liz and I decided against going into the desert in temperatures of 108 degrees to photograph the Joshua trees, and instead drive to La Jolla north of San Diego before going to our final hotel. However, the traffic was awful and having driven around la Jolla for a while looking for parking spaces in what looked like a rather expensive shopping area, we decided to head off to the Bahia resort and see if we could check in a bit early.

The resort is lovely, astride Mission Bay, with access to both a Public and private beach. Our first floor room, with kitchenette, overlooks the public beach, but we just wandered down to the private area this afternoon, and sat in covered sunbeds by the sea. We had lunch in the little bar, chatted up the bar tender for where to eat later, and are relaxing this afternoon. Tomorrow we are planning on getting a bus into downtown San Diego for a wee bit of shopping in the morning, before a bit more beach in the afternoon.
