It started slowly. Having had an early night last night following a full day, I booked a 2 day bus tour of the city online. The theory was brilliant, there’s a bus stop somewhere near the hotel (stop 15 on the green route). Practically, it doesn’t exist. I spent a long time talking to some dense bint called Patrice in Las Vegas who couldn’t find our booking, when all I wanted was the location of a bus stop. Gave up, took a cab to the White House to pick up the tour, it was quicker and cheaper. We had a good tour, saw Union station which was amazing and nothing like Woking station, got off and went to the national archives museum to see the Declaration of Independence, the bill of rights, and the constitution in the original manuscripts, then headed off for lunch in Chinatown …. A bit dodgy food wise. We decided we felt a bit tired so headed off to the hotel for some R&R.
but I must tell you about Liz and her packing. We were tired last night, it had been a long day but we started emptying the cases. Liz counted out 8, that’s 8, virtually identical white shirts. She’s got them all strung out in the wardrobe. I would take the mick, but I have a similar number of black tops!!
tomorrow we are meeting Andrea for lunch in Georgetown, which we are looking forward to. We aren’t drinking much, except that the $90 bar bill suggests otherwise ?
Sounds like you’re both having a blast! Keep the photos and posts coming, I’m really enjoying keeping up with the trip and look forward to the updates xx
